No More Insects Dry Carpet and Rug Cleaner
Source: Spa City Co-op (Entered by Lana Wiedower)This is a recipe I’ve been using for years. It’s great for those of us with allergies, all natural and edible but for the borax, and smells like heaven.
If you don’t have dried mint available, you may use essential oils such
lemon grass, citronella, sweet orange, lime, or any other e.o. with repellent properties.
Serves: enough to clean about 2,000 feet of carpet
Ingredients
1/2 cup
dried ground mint
1 cup
baking soda
1 cup
sea salt or kosher salt
1 cup
borax (laundry aisle of store)
Step by Step Instructions
- Place ingredients in large bowl and stir to blend.
- Use large container with holes in lid and add blended ingredients. Replace lid firmly.
- Lightly sprinkle mixture over carpets and rugs. Allow to sit for 2-24 hours then vacuum well. Clean fresh-smelling floors with no bugs.
