Apple tree, Golden Delicious Apple tree (Malus domestica 'Golden Delicious')Grower: A B C Nature Ghse/Nursery
Price: $40.00 ( 4 gallon pot )Available (Exact): 2
Undoubtedly one of the most important apple varieties of the 20th century, both as a commercial variety in its own right, and as breeding stock for many other varieties. Has a poor reputation amongst apple enthusiasts, but is actually surprisingly good when eaten straight from the tree. The variety was first discovered in the USA at the end of the 19th century, and is now planted in all the major warm apple growing areas of the world. Golden Delicious is a variety which is often frowned upon by apple lovers, but is very popular as a supermarket apple variety. However it is now, quite rightly, undergoing something of a rehabilitation amongst apple enthusiasts. From a grower's perspective Golden Delicious is an attractive proposition - heavy crops, and fruit which keeps in storage for a long time after harvest. This apple is a great pollinator for many other varieties of apple trees.

'Legacy' is great for southern climates. HEAT-TOLERANT, DROUGHT-TOLERANT! Blueberries are naturally high in anti-oxidants! Blueberries are extremely nutritious and have a high vitamin content. Blueberries are rapidly increasing in interest since they are so popular and reliable. Blueberries are considered a beautiful, productive hedge with spring flowering on dark green foliage, delicious fruit in summer and fiery red foliage for autumn color. The 'Legacy' variety is vigorous, upright and is especially suited for the Southern U.S. market. The plants are high yielding and very consistent yearly. 'Legacy' has medium-sized fruit with a very superior flavor and sweetness. Rated as the highest flavor blueberry overall. The quality of the fruit is superior to many cultivars and has long storage time of around 8 days if kept refrigerated at about 40º F. The fresh market is recommended due to the high quality of the fruit flavor. Because LEGACY is a low-chilling species native to the southeast US, it is recommended as a late mid-season cultivar, ripening after 'Bluecrop', in warmer areas where high-chilling highbush blueberries are grown successfully. 'Legacy' extends your blueberry season!
